How this works
Astrology is one of the instruments I use to read the psychological terrain. Much of what I read from is the nodal axis — the habitual way a person already knows, and the direction they are being asked to move toward. Alongside it stand four basic psychological needs: autonomy, competence, relatedness, and belonging. The planets relate synchronistically to psychological functions, each carrying an archetypal quality which is anchored in a specific behavioural field, and together they form the chart.
The chart is the instruction a seed carries — how an acorn knows to become an oak, and that particular oak rather than any other. Every compositional detail in it is, in an absolute sense, perfect, and what becomes of it depends entirely on the conscious integration of the one living the life.

The Moon now
The gibbous phase is the last rise before the flowering. What took root at the new moon is nearly grown now, close enough to completion that the work turns from pushing to perfecting. This is the phase of the real question — not what is being built, but what it is for. With the Moon in Capricorn, the question presses as duty. What one feels is responsibility — the long climb, the sense of standing answerable for what one has taken on. Under a Virgo Sun, that seriousness is set to work in the arena of craft and usefulness, where a life is weighed by whether what it does actually serves.
Capricorn wants to hold, and holds well. It gives the structure that keeps a wish from scattering. Near the bloom, though, the task is not to add more stone but to clear away what does not belong — the false effort, the duty carried out of habit rather than meaning. Held unconsciously, the Capricorn discipline hardens into grim endurance, building for the sake of building. Held consciously, it lets the near-finished work be examined honestly and pared to what matters. What was raised by will is asked, now, to prove it was worth raising.

The reading
I read the natal chart, and from it the progressions, the solar arc directions and the transits.
The chart itself appears not to move, though it is very much alive. What turns around it moves through two kinds of time.
The transits are influence, moving through objective time — the actual positions of the moment, the same for everyone alive. They become personal where they touch your chart or your progressions, gathering the material for change.
The progressions and the solar arc directions are development, moving through subjective duration — time as it is lived rather than time as it is counted. The progressions integrate what has been gathered, a slow interior maturing. The directions follow the Sun, showing where that maturing becomes biography — the turning points a life can be told by.
Both kinds of time turn around the chart, and everything they bring lands back in it.
The developmental layer moves in cycles — sprouting, ripening, decay — so much of a reading is about which season of a cycle you are standing in, what it is asking of you now, and what is not yet its time.
What you want to understand guides which layer I focus on. Some come for the natal chart itself. Some are drawn to the present influences meeting it. Some want clarification about developmental processes. Telling me what you are asking about is a useful constraint which tells me what to look for.
What I hand over is a reading of the map. You are the one walking the terrain, and what the reading opens is yours to use, in your own time.

How it is delivered
As a live call, as a recording in voice or video, or as a written reading addressed to you and your moment. The live call is the fullest form, because you can ask in the moment and the reading can follow where your questions go; a recording holds the same working of the chart in a form you can return to.
A written reading takes the chart as a whole, and that interpretation is the work itself. If you also want the backstage material — the positions and configurations listed plainly — ask and I will send it; it is your information. The list is not the reading.

About
My name is Victor Sehlin. Theory and experience have overturned each other for me rather than arriving in any neat order. For years I worked as a massage therapist and co-facilitated retreats and sessions with entheogenic and purgative remedies, and I was studying astrology through those same years. Now I am studying psychology. Each one is an extension of the same work: the body to be useful close at hand, the medicine to investigate inner states under one's own power, astrology as the symbolic language that confirms impressions and reveals through structured guidance, and psychology as the shared language of modern culture. Each one confirms the others.
I have come to trust only what I have confirmed by living it, never what I have borrowed, and the recovery of one's own authority is, to me, the ground the work stands on. So I use the chart partly to keep myself honest: it is the most reliable way I know to test what I feel against a structure of reality.
There is always uncontrollable content beyond our conscious exploration, but much of psychological well-being rests on the sense of being in control of one's life, and that sense holds only when it is sustained by the conscious motivation behind a choice. Whatever meets us along the way is not always calculable or pleasant, yet it is inseparable from the very choice to pursue fulfilment.
I want the work I do to be meaningful, and I know of nothing more meaningful than to have some good effect on the world and the people in it. Consciousness seems to me the way forward. It begins with the individual and moves out into what people share, and it cannot be forced — only offered. So I am here with what I have to offer. If it touches something in a person and sparks a light of their own self-awareness, I am grateful to have had a part in it. It returns power to the person rather than gathering it toward anyone or anything else, myself included. That, more than anything, is the main point of it all.
